Oh, I know... vampire? again? yes.
Bianca wants to escape. She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in. Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him. "I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would." But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed.
At first I have to drop this book because the first part of the story drags and frankly kind of boring and somewhat left me clueless on what the author is leading me into. But then it picks up and the twist was totally wicked, It caught me by surprise because I thought I've already figured out the whole plot and then boom... seriously totally unexpected. I have to read the paragraph twice to make sure I understood it right. I gasped and smiled after, yeah bravo for Miss Gray that's a first for me on the vampire novels. Aftert that of course it suddenly became a page turner. The characters were awesome, I must admit Bianca is way, way, way immature (for the character she plays- not going to spill) in a very cute and heart breaking way. The star-crossed lover kind of deal reminds me parts of Romeo & Juliet and if you think that scenario appeals to you I suggest you grab a copy of this book and you wouldn't get disappointed. I keep tossing and turning all night because I added another book to wait on till March. (for Stargazer)
Whoever said that this book is better than Twilight had lost his mind. Even if I rated this book as a 5, it wouldn't be the same, as they both have a different love story.
